Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live) vs. Yatogami Tōka (Date A Live)
On first glance, it would seem that Tobiichi Origami and Yatogami Tōka could not be any more different. While Origami is rather taciturn in speech and holds a position within the defense force's AST, Tōka is an innocently cheerful Spirit with a penchant for food. But they are alike in that they have both suffered hardships. Origami witnessed the deaths of her parents many years ago due to an attack by an unknown Spirit, and Tōka came into the world not knowing anything about herself and being hated simply due to her existence. Each of them carries this pain in their hearts, but they are not alone. A boy crossed both of their paths, making their lives a little brighter. This boy provided Origami another reason to live other than for vengeance, and he extended a gentle hand and kind words to Tōka when she needed it most. Both of these girls are different yet similar. Which will you support? |
Takanashi Rikka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs.
Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai)
There are girls who go nuts about love. And then there are girls who stick with the guy 24/7. For Rikka, love was something unseen as the Wicked Lord Shingan. Slowly but surely, she realised her feelings had developed from friendship to love, from allies to lovers. For Yaya, the creation of her life was something she could never repay, even as an Automaton. To her, dedicating herself to him was the only way she could possibly make up for this never ending debt she owed, even if only slightly. To make meals for him, to bathe with him, to sleep with him. As long as she could see his smile, she would do anything, anything at all. Relations will develop depending on both sides, whether with half-hearted effort or their all. In every mission, every moment. |
Natsume Rin (Little Busters!) vs. Yukihira Furano (NōKome)
Rin, the Cat Queen, versus Furano, Empress of Insults, will certainly be an interesting fight, indeed. One takes pride in caring for her precious cats with kindness and concern, ready to fight with her signature kick if anyone were to have any thought of injuring them. The other polishes her insults, waiting to unload them on some unexpected victim for fun. One has a group of friends that she can count on most of the time. The other doesn't mind being alone. One has a fulfilled love life. The other waits for an answer from him, the one and only. As they prep to fight this round of the century, one might think that one or the other is pretty much obvious. However, are things what they really seem to be? Are the statements true for one or two, or completely false altogether? Maybe the answer is already there. |
Aoyama Nanami (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo) vs. Kirigaya Suguha (Sword Art Online)
Unrequited love. Before long, they realise they have loved these guys who have been around them all this time, who have provided them with emotional support and whose smiles are worth living for. To say that friendship is not enough is an understatement. And yet, one is already taken by another, while the other is a brother. Love is a cruel thing indeed, for it shows no bounds, surpassing the placed boundaries. They themselves know that this love is impossible. They cannot confess, for it would bring many consequences that would only harm the relationship. And they must also think of the other party, with whom they've become acquainted. But as long as there's love, there is no need to care about what other people say. Or is it really going to end like this—never being able to truly express their feelings? |
Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs. Yui-nyan (Angel Beats!)
These two, cursed with disabilities that have cost them dearly: one of her physical being, the other her mental. Yui-nyan had a dreadful accident that paralyzed her body; as such, she sat in bed, slowly wasting to death before coming to the Afterworld. She felt much happier there, despite knowing that she had died already, because of her regained mobility and ability to do stuff she could not do at all before. Eucliwood, being a necromancer, had no one to count on. With every word she said eerily coming true, she walked on and on, till she found the guy with whom she thought she could spend the rest of her life. He did not mind her curse, her limitations, and accepted her. A curse is dreadful, but can make a small thing seem huge in comparison, such that they appreciate every good moment. Life isn't always as desirable as it may seem. |
Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) vs. Shana (Shakugan no Shana)
These powerful beings, one the Flame Haze, one the Angel. Both with unparalleled powers that are indeed impressive. But everything has a cost, and for them, it's loneliness. Shana grew up by herself, training to be stronger, and a normal life seemed like a fantasy. Her only connection to the real world was her Melon Bread. And when she took over the role of Flame Haze, no one was by her side to support her, to assist her in times of need. Kanade, the Vice President of the Student Council, had no friends. If she ever dared to make a friend, he or she would disappear, like everyone else in her club, leaving her alone even more and widening the gap in her heart. Perhaps that is why she loves mapo tofu, to block out the numbness in her heart until she fulfills her motive, her mission here. Being normal can be a blessing in disguise. These girls certainly did not choose the lives they have now…and they certainly might reconsider if given the chance. |

Nyarlathotep (Haiyore! Nyaruko-san) vs. Yukinoshita Yukino (OreGairu)
There are two very different personalities between Nyarlathotep and Yukinoshita Yukino. Noise versus silence. One always makes noise and unsettles her surroundings; the other remains quiet most of the time and tries not to get involved unless needed. Boiling blood versus cold blood. One always runs high and burns with passion when carrying out tasks; the other has almost no motivation and will only carry out her task if asked. Popularity versus solitude. One is popular among the whole world due to her power; the other is a loner due to her not-so-friendly attitude and sharp tongue. Between the two very different personalities, who will the voters choose—the noisy Nyarlathotep, or the quiet Yukinoshita Yukino? |
Charlotte Belew (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) vs. Shirakiin Ririchiyo (Inu × Boku SS)
The names “Belew” and “Shirakiin” may seem familiar to some, for they are names that have fame and have received recognition. However, the current standings are not quite at their former glory. Ririchiyo was isolated from her family as the successor. Even if she refused the role, who could change it? There was no one else to switch with, no one else who could bear the heavy burden. As such, she never felt warmth from any family member—she was instead prepared for her journey as the successor, and had no one to care about what she truly felt deep within. The Belew family, once honored and graced, is now a shadow of its former self due to an accident. In order to make the name well-known again, Charlotte has gone through hurdles and challenges to be one of the best students and to show off what a Belew can do, to restore the glory as much as she can. She believes one day her family will be respected again as long as she works hard, even if she is alone. But is it not easier to live a life where no one cares what your name or house is? |
Dekomori Sanae (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs.
Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai)
In a battle of loyalty, these two would probably end up on top. They greatly respect their respective masters, and it's commendable of them to have stuck with them so long with the excellent qualities they sport. Sanae is not only a student representative, she is also rather well-known in her grade, having made many friends. But still, she chose to go to the chūnibyō side, to serve her master as the wielder of the Mjolnir Hammer. No one knows why, but what is evident is how she will defend her master with her Hammer, how she will partake in her master's silly activities, and how she will fend off enemies, even knowing the rate of success. Yaya was one of the strongest automatons made, with humongous amounts of strength and human-like features and emotions; it is hard to see why she would choose him, who ranked almost last and with little chance at qualifying for the vital festival. But she knows no amount of change could replace the debt of creating her. So she will dedicate herself to him wholeheartedly without fail, be it serving meals or bathing with him. With such dedication and loyalty, whom will you choose? |
Takanashi Tōka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs. Kuroyukihime (Accel World)
Tōka and Kuroyukihime are both talented in what they do best. Tōka can whip up a mean dish, especially Italian dishes, such that she got a chance to travel overseas to widen her horizons and to train herself more in the culinary arts so that one day she could become a worldwide famous chef, capable of anything. Kuroyukihime was one of the five kings and queens in the game, a title so glorious and respected that it required lots of time and effort to garner. But with every skill there comes a price. Tōka does not truly understand why her sister shuns reality. She tries to understand her sister more, coming back from her training so as to spend more time together or guide her sister's lover on the right path. Kuroyukihime wanted more. This resulted in banishment from the title; she became a fugitive of sorts. Since then, she has changed her motivation from greed to encouragement, from curiosity to truth. Talent requires sacrifice at times, and at other times we are so ignorant of the things around us that we walk straight into problems. |
Yukihira Furano (NōKome) vs. Shiomiya Shiori (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai)
Self-esteem is something gained from experience, not something received at birth. Furano seemed strong, blasting insults here and there and acting slightly arrogant but proud, boasting high self-esteem. In truth, it is the opposite. Without anyone around, she lacks the support to function with the proud mask she bears. All that is left to see is a girl with low self-esteem and no confidence, who hopes someone will pass who knows her true self and cares for her as she truly is. Shiori seems to be content with the life she has as a librarian. But is that the truth? She wants to speak out her opinions instead of allowing all ideas to pass by her; she wants to shout out her suggestions, hoping to see improvements instead of nothing happening. In total, she wants the confidence to be able to carry out conversations with people. All of this requires an ounce of courage and the motivation to act and go forward without worry. |
Kirishima Shōko (Baka to Test to Shōkanjū) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
Beauty and brains can be a wonderful combination for most girls, but these girls suffer from their negative aspects. Kirishima Shōko was her school's top scorer and was placed in the best class. Due to this, she could not meet with her partner, who chose to stick it out in the lower group because he wanted to prove to the world that being at the bottom didn’t mean anything. Not only that, being unable to be by his side caused her to make sure that her partner remained faithful to her, and she went through all sorts of measures to prevent adultery. Victorique de Blois, on the other hand, was so smart that she found everyday life a chore due to its repetition. She remained cooped up within the library where her insatiable thirst for knowledge could be quenched. This led to her meeting her partner, who eventually suffered through dangerous places and dark mysteries uncovered by her knowledge. To whom will you lend your support? |

Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live) vs. Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai)
Their methods of loving may be different from everyone else, but to them, their obsessive love for their partner is an indication of their loyalty. Introducing Tobiichi Origami and Yaya, Tobiichi Origami has been in love with her partner since a young age and she went to great lengths to collect every little bit of information she could get on him in order to understand him. Even when he insults her, Origami still tries her best to make the best impression so that her partner won't hate her anymore, from doing degrading stuff to protecting him when needed. All she needs is for him to acknowledge her existence and she'll do anything to get it. Yaya is another maiden in love. Her greatest desire is to marry her partner and she always tries different ways to get him to fall in love with her, but to no avail. She, however, is never discouraged, even if her partner denies her every action. She believes one day that her actions will bear fruit. From doing her utmost best in protecting him to doing everything she can to seduce him, her determination is plain to see. Whose conquest will you support? |
Kōsaka Kirino (Ore no Imōto) vs. Kashiwazaki Sena (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai)
From having the same hobbies to excelling in sports and academics, both Kōsaka Kirino and Kashiwazaki Sena share a number of qualities and characteristics. What separates them is how they interact with other people. Sena's popularity has granted her a large fan base; however, none of those people are whom she would consider a friend. Sena searches for people with whom she is comfortable talking about her concerns and worries. Kirino has a difficult time trying to find a balance between her school life and her otaku lifestyle. Kirino fears revealing her hobby to others would cause them to see her in a negative light and is careful about choosing the right people to converse with on such topics. Can either of these girls hope to achieve something that her opponent cannot? |

Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) vs. Kuriyama Mirai (Kyōkai no Kanata)
They know they are not normal. One's a spirit warrior, the other an automaton. They know that they can never be normal. One did a terrible deed; the other cannot be human. They are resigned to their fate, making full use of their abilities before their times are up. One slays monsters for gold; the other serves her master as one of the strongest known automatons. They find enjoyment in the weirdest of things. One poses for model shoots, the other would willingly bathe with her master. Since they are not normal, they will never feel able to settle down and enjoy a peaceful life, for it is seemingly not their fate, nor their will. But no one has told them that people have accepted them for who and what they are. There is no discrimination of any sort—even the kin whom Mirai did a terrible deed against forgave her, and even Yaya's peers regarded her as a she, not an it. There are times where people may not seem to be who they are, but that still does not give anyone the right to discriminate, and everyone makes mistakes, even terrible ones. |
Nōmi Kudryavka (Little Busters!) vs. Chitanda Eru (Hyōka)
Curiosity is merely a trait of theirs; being curious is not a crime. They find every single mystery or peculiar thing most definitely interesting. Eru finds even the simplest of mysteries fascinating, and is pumped up to help solve a case with the help of a reluctant master detective, who is forced into action by her eyes. No matter how important it is, as long as it interests her, she will persist in solving it, even if it is not her business, nor should she really bother about it. Nōmi, having been in and out of many countries, has never stayed long enough for her to fully experience what a particular country has to offer. So when she had the chance, she made good use of it, making every moment and curiosity count, and trying her best to fulfill her current wishes, like performing well in a particular subject. It is never wrong to be curious, but just remember, curiosity killed the cat. There is always a limit to how much one can be curious, but will Eru and Nomi have a limit? |
Nakamura Yuri (Angel Beats!) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
Problems are everywhere—from simple ones like spilled milk, to the misplacement of certain things, or to complex ones like murder and almost unsolvable crimes. It is up to natural problem solvers like Yuri and Victorique to solve these issues. Yuri, being a natural leader, has to take command of every small issue, like lack of distraction and aim in a particular mission. If no one else does it, who will? Yuri cannot just sit there and wait for someone, because she knows she can do it herself. Victorique, although unknown to the general public, is actually the one solving all the immense, thought to be impossible to solve crimes committed by villains. Her motive is unclear, but what she does simply cannot be ignored by everyone. Problems like these require great thinking and analysis, and she possesses such skills, making her a valuable team player—that is if she wants to. Solving problems are just the norm for these two, but who will you feel has solved the problems better? |
Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!) vs. Suzumiya Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu)
All work and no play makes Jill a dull girl. That certainly describes Yui and Haruhi, who make full use of each day to have exciting and fun moments. Whether it is enjoying Mugi's tea or performing a song, every day is packed with fun-filled and unexpected moments of joy when you are stuck with these two, so make the best of it. Nothing dampens Yui’s spirit, and it is always up to her to reverse the bad moments, to make their members give it their all, even if she herself fails at a test. Haruhi wants to do it all, no matter how pointless or stupid it is. Breaking up with a guy immediately and drawing graffiti are just some of the things she does to satisfy her boredom. She never fails to make the whole brigade work to prevent something serious from happening, and although they do not admit it, it has filled them with lots of memories that cannot be forgotten. Each moment makes up a part of our lives; will you risk those moments or live a reserved life? |

Takanashi Tōka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs. Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live)
Takanashi Tōka and Tobiichi Origami are both extremely talented individuals. Tōka's appetizing Italian pasta, be it spaghetti or fusilli, along with her collection of Italian cuisine, has been savored by the taste buds and lips of her hungry customers, and earned her the invaluable chance to further improve in Italy itself. Origami, who was deemed not too young to die, spent her youth fighting creatures that intruded from another dimension and wrought tremendous damage, making her ability to control the Realizer units an envied skill to most of her counterparts. But the two have things that their brains just refuse to comprehend. Tōka always wondered why her sister stepped into her own delusions and wore an eye patch just to cover her yellow contact lens, while Origami was mystified by the reason that made her boyfriend so close with the villains who caused uncountable deaths, including her parents’. Both of them have vowed to save their beloved ones from their respective dangers. Who will succeed in doing the impossible? |
Itsuka Kotori (Date A Live) vs. Shokuhō Misaki (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
Is being a leader fate or just a show of power? What is needed to be a respected leader? Kotori and Misaki know the answers to those questions, and here they are: one is the commander of a secret organization and the other is the boss of the biggest clique at her school. Each of them possesses a great power that makes her capable as the brains of the group. Shokuhō Misaki wants to show us that her title as the Queen of Tokiwadai isn’t just a rumor that has spread around Academy City. With grace and beauty, she leads her clique along with her power as Academy City’s Level 5, Mental Out. By contrast, Itsuka Kotori commands an airship firmly—despite her status as the younger sister in the house, everyone on the ship recognizes and respects her. No one dares disobey or even revolt against her decisions. For the sake of their own groups, they are still looking for a new member. And now, they set their eyes on you. Can you decide to which leader you will give your support? |

Yatogami Tōka (Date A Live) vs. Itsuka Kotori (Date A Live)
Common sense—a crucial thing that enables one to live in this world. Yatogami Tōka does not have it. Constantly attacked by weaker "mech-people" whenever she appeared in this world, she never had the chance to speak to a normal person, let alone enjoy life in a different dimension. All she now wants to do is to eat any gourmet food she could find here, and have a relaxing school time with the one who sealed her powers. But since she lacks common sense, she is always tricked by her arch-enemy. Itsuka Kotori knows too much about common sense. At the helm of a warship, she is way more mature than any other girl her age. With a calm demeanor and an intelligent brain, she has planned numerous dates that have been ultimately successful. However, she sometimes wishes to take off her black ribbon and wear her white one, and spend time playing with her beloved brother as his cute little sister, just like other girls her age. So here's the ultimate question: which is better? Not having common sense, or having too much of it? |
Takanashi Rikka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs.
Aoyama Nanami (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
Love: it's the inspiration for these two girls, the bonds they have with their beloved ones that motivate them to not give up. Rikka has to deal with her chūnibyō and the love she has for Yūta, and even when their friends may think she will never be a mature person, she fights and proves that they're wrong. Aoyama, on the other hand, works as hard as she can. She is motivated by Sorata, who supports her in the hardest times during which she almost gives up and returns to her home. With his help, she decides to stay and keep fighting for her dreams. |
Dekomori Sanae (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!) vs. Yoshino (Date A Live)
Friends: ones that support each other during hard times. Dekomori Sanae has many. No matter if it is her classmates who treated her as a treasure due to her excellent academic achievements, or her master who recognized the power of her portable hammer, she helps them out with all her strength. In contrast, Yoshino has almost no friends at all. She wants to make some and converse with them, but the ones who greet her upon her entry to this world aren't friendly and just want to exterminate her. Nevertheless, they both have one true friend on whom they heavily rely. Sanae just can't miss blabbering with the one who claimed to be her idol, and no matter how they hate each other on paper, deep down in their hearts lies a strong bond connecting the two. Yoshino has her puppet, her hero who is the alter ego of herself. When she needs support from others, or when she has to face the fear of talking to others, it encourages her to relax and gives her confidence. Which friendship is the strongest? |
Konjiki no Yami (To LOVE-Ru) vs. Kasugano Sora (Yosuga no Sora)
What is a normal person? These two girls clearly recognize the unusualness of their own bodies and even dare to address themselves as cursed people. They already knew that they can’t be normal human beings. Konjiki no Yami, the Golden Darkness, has an unusual ability that brings her to come to earth. Being called a weapon makes her risk her own life to find her true self on earth. She seeks her identity not as a assassin and not as the guinea pig of some experiments, but as true human being. No different from Yami, Kasugano Sora was born with a fragile body and has a weak appearance due to her illness, yet emits cuteness and prettiness just like a normal girl. Sora still hopes in her heart that someday she will be able to walk, run, jump, and do anything freely with her friends, especially with her family. And now, on this Earth, they’re trying to find their “normal” selves—but they need your help to do that. Do you mind accompanying them on their journeys? |
Hirasawa Yui (K-ON!) vs. Iwasawa Masami (Angel Beats!)
Music is in their blood. Music composes what they are. But most importantly, music guides their lives, whether it serves as a connection or an escape. Yui certainly did not expect to play a complex instrument like the guitar when she first considered joining K-ON. But not only did “Gitar” give her valuable friends, cake, and sweets, it also gave her something she could be naturally good at—something she can say is a talent to which she can give her all, no matter how challenging the situation is. Masami had nothing. She was ready to give up when she discovered the guitar. This guitar not only gave her refuge, it gave her a new chance at life, a chance to be truly human. It also gave her something she desired in a new world—freedom, even after dying. Music is a tool by many, but for some, it has proved to be a valuable lesson that teaches them to be free and human. |

Chocolat (NōKome) vs. Takanashi Tōka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!)
These two girls have different abilities that complement each other perfectly. Tōka has the ability to make the most delicious dishes and she wants to share them with the people she loves. Chocolat, as her name says, loves to eat all kinds of sweets and desserts. Not only do they have some things in common, they must also try to protect the people who are important to them. Tōka has the responsibility to protect Rikka—not just because they’re sisters, but because she loves her and wants the best for her. Chocolat was sent by god to break Kanade's absolute choice. However, she lost her memories, and tries her best to support Kanade in whatever he needs. |
Yoshino (Date A Live) vs. Takanashi Rikka (Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!)
Both Takanashi Rikka and Yoshino have stunning weapons. Rikka has her Tyrant's eye, the golden contact lens that sees through everything, and a delicate purple umbrella that can protect her against any foreign attack. Yoshino, with her watery blue eyes, has the power to make rain when the weather forecast says otherwise, and literally freeze anybody on the spot, giving her opponents a nice chill. But while Rikka is always prepared to face her foes and will never easily give up, Yoshino does not prefer battles and would rather evade any assaults launched on her. Nevertheless, they have no choice but to fight for glory, as the right to participate in the Amethyst necklace match is at stake. Both of them currently have a perfect record in 2014. Whose array of weaponry can make the other taste defeat? |
Tokisaki Kurumi (Date A Live) vs. Kuroyukihime (Accel World)
Black. A part of the name. Black. The colour of her armour. Black. The last colour one sees before death. For some, black resembles the past: the killings, the horrible things one did, the immense regret one recalls before death. To some, it signifies the present, the determination to save the world with unparalleled resolve, and the countless sacrifices before achievement. And to some it resembles an unknown future, a likely darkness that tomorrow will bring. Will it bring peace, or will grim suffering follow? Finally, it resembles time: every second means one part of your life gone, one second of your time limit to achieve something gone. Would someone want to reverse time, to make sure nothing goes wrong, or live a life with regret and mistakes? The former seems tempting, but is a life without mistakes truly worth it? Is that mistake a blessing or a curse in disguise? No one knows what a changed mistake might do, nor does one know how the future may change. So they live in darkness, unknowing of the truth and yet aware of what it might hold... |
Shana (Shakugan no Shana) vs. Konjiki no Yami (To LOVE-Ru)
Tiny, but strong; sweet, yet dangerous. These words perfectly describe these girls, who had lived for something that was believed by them. Shana, one of the great Flame Hazes, is recognized by her comrades as a person who can move swiftly and gracefully on the battlefield. Facing many obstacles, she dashes forward to reach her goal to protect the world and an especially important person. Konjiki no Yami—Golden Darkness—searches for a normal life on Earth. This cute, petite-looking girl befriends many earthlings and becomes one of them. She believes that her life is no longer for killing, but for protecting her friends. Because of their appearances, they attract many people. And because of their will and power to protect everybody, people like them. They’ve already became one with their surroundings. And now, Shana and Yami want you to befriend them and see them not as fighters, but as normal girls. Will you support them? |
Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs.
Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
A heavyweight match between two of the strongest Stella girls, the Necromancer, Eucliwood Hellscythe, and the Electromaster, Misaka Mikoto, takes place today. In this period, both of them have perfect scores. Overall, Eucliwood Hellscythe looks good with only one loss, while Misaka Mikoto still maintains her amazing, unbeaten run. Although Eucliwood has one loss, she is still upholding her overall performance well. This match is very important to her as she is aiming for the third necklace in her ISML career. Each one comes into this match boasting one win over the other in their Regular Season encounters to date. Not long ago, Misaka Mikoto won this year's very first Regular Season award, the Aquamarine Necklace. She will definitely aim to win here to show her overwhelming strength. As both have six wins each, a win here will lead one to the final Amethyst necklace match while the other will continue to maintain a perfect season record. However, only one of them can win today. Will the Necromancer use her power to defeat Misaka Mikoto, or will the Electromaster shock Eucliwood Hellscythe? |
Victorique de Blois (GOSICK) vs. Oshino Shinobu (Bakemonogatari)
Legends roam far and wide. The Gray Wolf—a fearsome yet intelligent creature. The royal vampire—charismatic, yet snarky. Commoners and citizens alike know these legends. But are these legends true? The Gray Wolf might be intelligent, but is she truly fearsome, or does she yearn for someone to take notice of her, to show affection, friendship, and, perhaps most important of all, care? She knows she lacks these things, but how does she tell anyone while sitting alone at the top of her tower? She is alone till the day a boy with these qualities shows up and discovers what she is. The royal vampire—a former shell of herself, a mere body and no true soul. The legends that once described her are now just mere lies. She is a legend that may one day be reborn, not as the Royal vampire, but instead reflecting how she truly is. Victorique and Shinobu—the Wolf and the Vampire—might have nothing in common, but what they share is a new life they can change with the help of someone willing... |
Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) vs. Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
Perfection is nothing but a dream, an impossibility many aspire to, for perfection means to them that they are the best and only the best. Some may consider Shiina Mashiro and Tachibana Kanade perfect beings, one the youth master artist, unparalleled by none, the other the president of the Seitokai, who is widely respected throughout the whole school. But what seems to be perfection is just mere fronts for them. Mashiro might be the master artist, but that is it. She has no ability to fully take care of herself, nor can she interact with others easily. It had to take someone with patience and care for her to truly express herself. Kanade was alone on her mission, where making friends just meant having more painful memories once they left for a better world. Perfection is nothing but a factor when you are alone, and nothing can replace true friendship that lasts for life and eternity. This round also symbolizes the possible end of a legend and the start of a new one—a feat, if accomplished, that would be most fruitful to the winner. Perfection might not exist, but as long as you live your life, nothing will go wrong. |
Shiodome Miuna (Nagi no Asukara) vs. Ayukawa Tenri (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai)
To still love someone after being rejected is not something that can be done easily, but these girls have the resolve and the love. Shiodome Miuna was an extremely compassionate and strong-willed girl who initially lacked self-confidence due to her mother’s death while she was still young. She came to love Hikari later, but had to wait for his awakening from the deep slumber that he and every one of his kind faced. Unfortunately, it was too late even then, as before she could even confess her feelings, she was rejected when Hikari placed his attention and worry on someone else. Though rejected, she still hasn’t given up hope and continues to love him. Ayukawa Tenri was slightly better off. From a young age, she was extremely shy and never spoke to anyone prior to meeting Keima, with whom she fell in love. Due to her shy nature, she had never spoken much, but had always supported and loved him. She decided to confess when Keima was in danger. The reply she got back, however, wasn't real. Despite this, she says that she'll always love him for who he is and support him in whatever he does. Whose resolve do you admire? |

Deep in the caverns of darkness shines the Amethyst Necklace, which acts as a light that guides those in the night to a place where they can be accepted and live as themselves. As much as Tokisaki Kurumi despises humans and does not believe in their kindness, a part of her wants to believe that not all humans are evil. If she has to play the role of the "bad guy" such that she can maintain order in her world, Tachibana Kanade will play the part. When facing a difficult task, Itsuka Kotori is conflicted with her duty as the commander of her station and as a sister wanting her brother to be safe. Defending necklace holder Gokō Ruri continually asks herself if it is okay to change herself so that the person she cares about focuses only on her. Yoshino has trouble speaking up, but with the right push, she is able to voice her opinion about the matter at hand. Eucliwood Hellscythe wonders if what she had done in the past was the correct decision and if those who were once by her side have forgiven her. Although she can no longer express her emotions, Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko will not let it get the best of her and uses it to better herself as a person. Which of these seven girls will be able to balance their positive and negative traits and reach out towards the light of their darkness? |

Victorique de Blois (GOSICK) vs.
Iwasawa Masami (Angel Beats!) vs.
Kirishima Shōko (Baka to Test to Shōkanjū) vs.
Natsume Rin (Little Busters!) vs.
Chocolat (NōKome) vs.
Charlotte Belew (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) vs.
Roromiya Karuta (Inu × Boku SS)
Purple resembles the chaos seen in their respective lives, the one part they could do nothing about as they felt nothing and were helpless to do anything at all. But in light of this, they started anew with a fresh freedom. Victorique, trapped in her tower, could only sit there with the eyes of a wise wolf deep within her as she slowly grew up in that dark, murky, and dull pillar of nothingness—till the day she transferred to a school where she met the person who changed her life for the better. Masami, robbed of not only her childhood but also her life, had suffered too much for a normal teenager to handle or take it all in and start anew—but she did. She started anew, even if only for a short time, which gave her memories she would never forget. Shōko, with her high standings in both class and life, wanted to meet her true love, but due to the various restrictions placed on her, it became difficult for her to regularly meet him, her one and only love. But love knows no bounds and she will never stop from pursuing her prize. Rin suffered from a lack of self-confidence and social skills, such that she was anti-social. Little Busters solved that. She finally broke out of her comfort zone and was able to make new friends, as well as enemies. The helper of God himself losing her memories was pitiful, but that did not keep Chocolat down; she maintained a positive attitude throughout and helped the best she could, even when she was considered a nuisance at times. Charlotte saw her beloved family's name go down in ashes due to one serious accident. She felt miserable, but at the same time had the spark of bringing her family name out from the ashes and back up to the top—a spark that will not go out till the day she dies. Karuta had faced death twice, once due to a loss in battle, and the other when she was forced to save her master. Both times, she did not blame anyone, or anything, for these misfortunes. Instead, she was cheerful and innocent, as if she had no memories of the incident itself, and continued gorging away on food. Time heals all wounds, and even the most helplessness of situations can one day be solved, handled slowly but surely. |
