Kurousagi (Mondaiji) vs. Kuroyukihime (Accel World)
Black. For some, it is the color of the sins they once committed. Kuroyukihime, a queen of her own domain, is weighed down by the burden of guilt and shame of a dark, dark past. Her sins painting her armor obsidian black, the Black Lotus fights a constant war against those who wish her dead and against the fears of isolation and rejection. Black. For others, it is the color of the curse they once received. Kurousagi, Judge Master of a prestigious community, is forced to see a history of suffering and misery. The effects of a decision gone wrong reciprocated over years has become for the battle bunny an unending nightmare. Despite the darkness that has surrounded her friends and allies, she strives to banish the curse and recolor her world into a flaming bright pink. For both these girls, all the battles fought, all the blood shed, are all for the hope that tomorrow will be less black than yesterday. |
Itsuka Kotori (Date A Live) vs. Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai)
Welcome to the start of the Aquamarine Period, where we have two girls competing with one another for the affection of their loved ones. First we have Itsuka Kotori, who does her best in supporting her loved one, her brother, in any way she can. From giving him advice to personally caring for him, she has done much to provide the support her brother needs. Not one to back down, Yaya is putting up a fight to show that her love for her master is far greater than anyone else’s. From protecting him to giving him all of her affection and love, she, too, does her best to support her master in every way she can. With both girls trying to prove that their affections are far greater and noble, whose efforts will be acknowledged? |
Aoyama Nanami (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo) vs. Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live)
These characters face only friendship with their secret crushes, not the love they truly want. Ever since they became friends with those they loved, they hoped they would love them and only them. But life is never fair. Almost always, there is someone else who they love more. Despite their best efforts, it ends up being pointless. Nanami really loves the guy who guided her through tough times, who was with her during her dark days, and she even had fun with him. And yet, his heart is captivated by someone else. Origami wants to be alone with him. To spend the rest of her life with him, and yet he is in a harem, never devoting most of his time to her. These two have had their loved ones snatched away by others. Which maiden would you sympathize with and help get back on her feet? |
Yūki Mikan (To LOVE-Ru) vs. Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online)
The start of the Aquamarine Period pits two girls of such powers that could mesmerize any guy—culinary skills and house tending capabilities. Introducing Yūki Mikan, an elementary school grader who has been tending the house and looking after her brother since she was young: she has shown a maturity that surpasses her peers. Not only did she tend to household chores, she even managed to attain good grades in school, showing us the dedication and passion she has for her family. Yūki Asuna, on the other hand, isn't too fazed by it as she has showed us that she, too, can become the housewife that every man dreams of. From cooking to tending to the needs of her loved ones, she tries her best and never backs away, eventually mastering those skills. There is no time to stare in disbelief as now YOU only have a choice: who will you pick as the ideal girl in the family? |
Shana (Shakugan no Shana) vs. Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
The first Stella match starts for Mashiro, and what better way to start than with Shana, who is well known here in ISML. Shana, although deprived of a tiara for six years running, is a memorable character for many. She is the character who has the most necklaces from these past six years. The Flame Haze has been upsetting many opponents thought to be undefeated all season. She has done what was thought to be the impossible. Even more, even though her strength is slowly dwindling, she has managed to reach the top sixteen five times since she has been here. This year, however, could be her falling year as she rages on in the battle. Mashiro struck out as the top-tier Nova-ist from last year who went undefeated all season, winning not only the Nova Circlet, but also maintaining a top five position overall during the finals. She even won a necklace during her first year that Shana still has failed to get. As the first match starts off this year, it is time for the old to defend her titles. Will she maintain her high level of strength or will the new girl prove that she is indeed worthy? |
Makise Kurisu (Steins;Gate) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
The scientist. One that uses science to solve Earth's greatest mysteries and to build something new. A detective. One that uses intuition to solve complicated crimes thought to be foolproof. Two solvers of the world, who, although have many differences, in fact have the same base. And now, we see a battle between a scientist and detective once more. Kurisu is a well-known youth scientist researching various things, like time travel. Using science to solve these well-known enigmas, she has come up with many theories about things that seem too complex for the human mind to comprehend. Victorique is a detective with wisdom rivaled by none. Using this wisdom, she solves various crimes that were thought to be solid with no chance of ever being solved, proving various people, including her friend, wrong. Who will you support here? |
Gokō Ruri (Kuroneko) (Ore no Imōto) vs. Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!)
Kuroneko had a superb Regular Season last year, a totally undefeated record for her. And finally, the Regular Season starts again, and our defending champion, Gokō Ruri, will start her tough journey to reclaim the Heavenly Tiara. However, things might be more difficult this year. Her first challenger of the season will be Aisaka Taiga, the Palmtop Tiger. Aisaka Taiga already proved in the past that she was more than enough to beat any girl that comes to her unprepared. The Palmtop Tiger will not be an easy opponent for any girl in the Regular Season, including Gokō Ruri. Gokō Ruri must be well prepared so that Aisaka Taiga won’t be able to cause an upset with the defending champion losing the first round of the Regular Season. So, who will win the match? Will Kuroneko show the power of a Tiara holder, or will the Palmtop Tiger scratch her opponent? |
Kirishima Shōko (Baka to Test to Shōkanjū) vs. Aragaki Ayase (Ore no Imōto)
To capture hearts is said to be the toughest, but succeed in doing so and you’ll be rewarded with unyielding love and loyalty. Kirishima Shōko, an intelligent beauty, was once picked on for not fitting in to her class. During these times, her partner protected her from the injustice she faced. Through the many meetings the two had, she fell in love with him. Despite all the insecurities her partner has given her, she still tries her best in protecting and loving him. Aragaki Ayase was also the school beauty, but unlike Shōko, she wasn't as fortunate. Being popular means she is courted a lot. Her ideal partner, however, is her best friend's brother of whom during their initial encounter was thought to be leading his sister astray. She sought to protect her best friend, but through their encounters, she fell for him when she realised he wasn't as bad as she thought. Whose love and loyalty has touched your heart? To whom will you show your affections? |
Kōsaka Kirino (Ore no Imōto) vs. Kasugano Sora (Yosuga no Sora)
To My Beloved Onii-chan: I just want to let you know that I love you. It all started years ago when you were there for me, even though I was lonely and sad. No matter what the situation, you supported me and helped me through my struggles. I could always depend on you and look up to you. I wanted to be like you, and I wanted you to notice me. I wanted you to like me. I wanted to mean something to you. But then... You changed. You're not the brother I once knew. Our situation has changed, and so has our environment. You spend less time with me, and you're not always there anymore. There are other girls now, girls demanding your attention and affection. There are some times when I'm so jealous and pained, I can't hold in my anger. I can't hold in my tears. But even still, my love for you has never faded. Not even once. I know that this is not something you can accept immediately, but I'm willing to wait. For as long as it takes. Because you were always there for me. Your sister, Kōsaka Kirino and Kasugano Sora |
Kashiwazaki Sena (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) vs.
Charlotte Dunois (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
After a couple of years in the Nova Division, Kashiwazaki Sena finally moves on to the Stella Division, a division that has more challenges for every girl to prove her worth. Even though she received last place in the Postseason two consecutive times, she can still prove that she has the ability to create some havoc in the Stella Division. In Meat’s first match, she will face the French IS representative, Charlotte Dunois. Charlotte Dunois, the only girl from her series that managed to survive until now, had a bad season last year. However, she managed to be the only one to survive and prove that despite how bad she may do, she still has the ability to get back on track right away. With the second season of her series out, she will definitely get a boost and will want to get some good results this year. In this very first day, will Kashiwazaki Sena prove herself in the Stella Division, or will Charlotte Dunois get a better result? |
Yuzuriha Inori (Guilty Crown) vs. Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
Yuzuriha Inori, one of the new Stella Division girls from Nova Division, had a decent performance last year, where she remained in the top ten. And now, she has come to Stella Division, a whole new place for her to show her power. However, she has been given a tough and rough challenge in her first Regular Season match—to face Misaka Mikoto. Misaka Mikoto is almost a forbidden enemy for every girl in the league, as can be seen from her performance from the last three years— she has been in the top three in three Regular Seasons in a row and has one Heavenly Tiara in hand. She will provide a test for the Nova Division newcomer to see whether she is worthy to stand in the league or not. At the very end, will Misaka Mikoto shock Yuzuriha Inori, or will Yuzuriha Inori end up with a shocking result? |

Yui (Sword Art Online) vs. Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online)
Sometimes, it takes the closest of relationships to truly appreciate the value of a life. Yūki Asuna was an ordinary teenage girl, with dreams and fantasies but trapped in the perilous world of reality. A reality bizarre and foreign, yet equally as unforgiving. She traveled the lands alone, searching for a purpose in her world, a path forward. Against her fellow comrades and warriors, she was kind. Against the monsters that stood in her way, she was merciless. Against the one boy who opened her eyes for the first time, she was helpless. But there was still something missing. Of course, Yui couldn't figure out what was wrong with Asuna. Perusing through the emotional data she was receiving, Yui was more than surprised at the joy and happiness that Asuna was experiencing, even in her toughest times. Yui couldn't believe that a girl could be so content despite being trapped against her will in a world that could care less about the solo swordswoman. Yui had to find out why. Their meeting was fate. Their relationship was destiny. Without a doubt, Yui and Asuna were the missing piece of the other's heart. |
Yaya (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) vs. Nyarlathotep (Haiyore! Nyaruko-san)
What does a girl who specializes in close quarters combat and a girl who is an automaton meant for fighting have in common? They both love their partner deeply. Presenting two girls: Yaya and Nyarlathotep! Yaya is an automaton that is on a contract to help her master exact revenge. Outside of training, Yaya has an ambitious dream of becoming her master's wife. She tries every way she can to fulfill her dream but is always denied. Nyarlathotep had the same fate. As a top space combatant, she is tasked to protect Earth. From there, the space alien met her partner out of coincidence and fell in love at first sight. She, too, has a dream of marrying her partner but is denied at every advancement she makes. Between the two, whose dream would you fulfill? |
Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo) vs. Akiyama Mio (K-ON!)
Both of the girls here are very talented in different ways. Shiina Mashiro is very good at painting, and any one of her paintings can easily beat the hard work of someone else. However, she was shut in until she couldn't live by herself and had trouble with even the smallest tasks. Akiyama Mio was not the only Hōkago Tea Time guitarist, but had the talent to become one of its main singers. However, she was simply too shy, shy to the point of having to be forced to act and ignore that shyness. Even the most talented people have their own weaknesses. Who will be able to overcome her weakness? Will Shiina Mashiro learn to live by herself? Or will Akiyama Mio defeat her own timid nature? |
Saber (Fate/stay night) vs. Shana (Shakugan no Shana)
A battle between two ISML legends, swords-women, and rivals wages on. They are both two of the elites who survived from the very first day that ISML started, and none of them are giving their places away to the other girls. They wield swords, and are almost invincible when their respective weapons are together with them against anyone who wishes to fight. An epic battle, a heart-pounding match, where they will give all they have to show each other their very best. At the very end, no matter the outcome, one of them will surely go down. Only one will stand and the other will fall. They know this in their hearts—there will be no other opponents who can fight them to the fullest. Saber and Shana are rivals till the very end. |

Charlotte Belew (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai) vs.
Laura Bodewig (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
Their pasts are cold, filled with sorrow. The moment a small mistake occurred, Charlotte Belew was robbed of her future. Her family was separated, and she was left to believe that she was the remaining heir of the Belew name, however tarnished it may have been. If she can obtain the title of Wiseman, maybe she can restore her family name to the glory that it once was. Nurtured for the sake of war, when her country realized they were on the losing side, Laura Bodewig's body and future were thrown away. Laura continuously grasped for something to live for, only to fail each time she tried. An unexpected encounter allowed her to relive her life once again in hopes of returning her savior's kindness. Can either Charlotte or Laura find the warm light through their painful journey? |
Kirigaya Suguha (Sword Art Online) vs. Kuriyama Mirai (Kyōkai no Kanata)
Occasionally, they stop and ask themselves what it is that they are fighting for. Was it to understand why her brother was so immersed in virtual reality games? Was it so she could find an alternative way to converse with her brother like she could not do in real life? Or was it so that she could have him see her from a different perspective, instead of that of a brother and sister relationship? Did she become a Spirit Warrior because she wanted to or because she had to? Was there any point in keeping an eye on a person that did not appear threatening or mischievous? Is it wrong to have feelings for said person? While Kirigaya Suguha and Kuriyama Mirai may not have the answers to these questions now, with their swords in hand and their minds focused, they are sure to thrust towards a conclusion, not letting anyone stand in their way. |
Tōwa Erio (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) vs. Yuzuriha Inori (Guilty Crown)
Both of them are new to the Stella Division, and both of them have shown in their previous matches to the voters that they are capable of staying. In their last two matches, they each took one win and one loss, respectively. This is far more than enough to show the voters their strength and their ability to stand in the Stella Division without much trouble. In this match, their fate will change, where one of them will simply come out on top of the other. They don’t want to lose to the other and be left out of the party. In their last couple of years in the Nova Division, Yuzuriha Inori had always been above Tōwa Erio. Can Erio get her first win against Inori, or will Inori achieve a 3-0 against Erio? |

Yukihira Furano (NōKome) vs. Yatogami Tōka (Date A Live)
Innocence. No matter how tough a girl is, deep down within her heart is her pure-hearted innocence. No amount of cruelty or hiding can take this precious thing away. Furano acts high and mighty. She belittles the unpopular guy and would rather eat herself to death than be associated with him. But that act is entirely false. What she truly wants is to be with him, for him to hold her affectionately in his arms, to cuddle her, to spoil her. It is the same for Tōka. Being alone for thousands of years seems to have toughed her up to the point of shunning all emotion. And yet, when he talked to her, she broke down. That supposed steel heart started to beat with various emotions, because she finally found someone who could truly appreciate her, whom she could protect and who would love her until old age. And even when he dies, she'll have fond memories that will last forever. Never underestimate the power of the people around you, for they are your one and only. |
Kuriyama Mirai (Kyōkai no Kanata) vs. Yoshino (Date A Live)
What purpose do they fight for? What do they exactly live for? What if Mirai's job is finished as a Spirit Warrior? Will she go back to where she once lived or will she stay, having found new friends and people who accept her? Or will she suffer a different fate altogether? And what about our dear Yoshino? What exactly is her purpose in life? Is she truly a Spirit Disaster? Or is her fate changed forever, to remain by his side? Or is it something else altogether? Fate works in strange ways and is never absolute. No one person will always be one thing, as fate is something that cannot be grasped but is changed through minor movements. A small change makes a large difference in how you live your life. Can these girls place their dark pasts behind them and move on? |
Kuroyukihime (Accel World) vs. Laura Bodewig (IS <Infinite Stratos>)
They once performed the role of the villain. Laura felt that she was better with her top-rate skills and military lifestyle, such that she mocked newcomers. She taunted them by stating that because of their lousy skills, the only reason they even qualified was due to their country. Kuroyukihime wanted more. She wanted to gain the final level, to know what happened when someone reached it. With that, she executed one of her friends without notice, and even planned to kill even more of the level 9s. Since then, they reformed. Laura became acquaintances with the newcomers, even friends. Kuroyukihime changed, giving up her spot so as to start anew, never trying such a stunt again. To sin is to be human, but to be sorry takes courage. |
Yuzuriha Inori (Guilty Crown) vs. Kasugano Sora (Yosuga no Sora)
No matter how much injustice they faced, they never buckled under pressure. They remained loyal and never doubted their partners. Yuzuriha Inori was a girl with few emotions. She did not understand why people did certain things and never understood her emotions well. Though she couldn't comprehend, she never doubted her partner's actions and even did her best in protecting him when everyone deserted them. While she didn’t understand many of the emotions she faced, her partner taught her much. She was grateful and supported him by being the emotional backing that he needed in return for showing her how beautiful but sad the world was. Kasugano Sora was a quiet, reclusive girl who had a weak body, which caused her to fall sick easily. She was once traumatized by the accident that took her parents' lives away. Coupled with her frail body, she was robbed the chance of living the life of a normal person and was dependent on her brother—her only close relative. Afraid of him leaving her, she learned of and corrected her bad attitude, which was developed from the resentment she had for being robbed of her independent life. Whose loyalty do you admire? |
Tōwa Erio (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) vs.
Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
Emotions are something that distinguishes how humans feel towards their surroundings and are something easily understood by everyone. However, neither of them understood the myriad of emotions that are expressed in everyday life. Tōwa Erio grew up in a household where her mother neglected her. A terrible accident befell her and she began withdrawing within herself. Her cousin slowly taught her what her many unknown emotions were and encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone. Though it didn't progress well, she did her best in confronting her fear as she tried to experience how a normal person lives. Through that, she began to understand the many emotions that were once alien to her. Shiina Mashiro, on the other hand, while being unable to understand the many emotions around her, wasn’t as unfortunate. Being cooped up since birth to hone her talent meant she received little to no interaction, resulting in her inability to comprehend what people were feeling and doing. Her partner, however, did his best to educate her, and slowly, she began to start living the life of a normal person. With both girls doing their best, whom will you reward? |
Nakano Azusa (K-ON!) vs. Akiyama Mio (K-ON!)
Azusa will have to take down one of her most difficult obstacles yet. She has to battle her senpai, the one and only Mio-chan. Azusa greatly respects Mio, not only for her seriousness and her bass playing, but for how easily she can communicate with the other members of the band, whereas she feels that the others members are way too immature. Likewise, Mio greatly loves her junior, being the only one junior. She is the only one serious enough here. She is the one whom she can ask for pro guitar tips. Defeating either foe brings great implications to both parties here. For Azusa, it means that her senpai has finally stepped down and that she is on her own. For Mio, she will have to limit Azusa's potential to do better here in this tournament. Which party will you nominate, despite knowing it will do no good to the other side? |
Honma Meiko (AnoHana) vs. Last Order (Toaru Majutsu no Index)
When you see these two girls, you might first wonder what cute and snuggable girls they are. Once you listen to their pasts, their back stories, you will wonder why and how they maintain such optimism, despite facing their harsh realities. Meiko died at a young age and became a ghost, seen only by the one she was closest to. Seeing her family going on with their daily lives fills her with relief, and yet a sense of regret fills her sometimes as tear drops fall to the ground, never leaving a stain. Last Order was a weapon used in case the other weapons were to be destroyed, a detonator. Living her life like that, she seemed cheerful and abuzz with energy. But while she can do that, it will never change the fact that she is responsible for thousands of innocent lives and that if she does something wrong, she might never get them back. To suffer is to live, and to be happy is already a blessing in itself. |

Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live) vs.
Haqua du Lot Herminium (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai)
If they had a choice between their duty and living with the people they care about, they would have a difficult time deciding. Tobiichi Origami works with the Anti-Spirit Team with the hopes of finding the one who killed her parents. Living a normal life as a high school student is her main solace in what would otherwise be an unusual lifestyle. If caught between having fun with the one she cherishes and finding a lead to her killer, Origami’s deadpan face might show a sign of discomfort. Having graduated at the top of the class, it is no wonder why so many members of the Sprit Squad look up to her. But when she messes up on one of her missions, Haqua hesitates to ask those she knows if they can help her. Haqua also questions whether there will be someone who will praise her when she does a job well that she can accept. Which of these girls will stand on top when this match is over? |
Momo Belia Deviluke (To LOVE-Ru) vs. Itsuka Kotori (Date A Live)
Today’s challengers have proven that they can be a reliable imōto, friend, and/or ally on a good day. They can also be the greatest enemy on a bad day. Momo Belia Deviluke may be more interested in planning embarrassing ideas for her own amusement, but she still knows her plans are just for fun and has no intention of causing too much trouble. However, she will use her powers to protect her family and friends from trouble, whether it’s an enemy from another planet or just another bully. Meanwhile, Itsuka Kotori will not hide the fact that she cares about her brother and will help him out if necessary. In addition, she will also help defend her home and world from attacking spirits. If there’s trouble that even she can’t handle, she will have to rely on other methods, which could end up being a double-edged sword against both friends and foes. One challenger is already looking for a return trip to the Postseason, while the other is already aiming for the top in her first year. What will be the key to victory in today’s match, love or brute strength? |
Yui-nyan (Angel Beats!) vs. Honma Meiko (AnoHana)
A dream. A wish. A prayer. Yui makes sure every day is filled with excitement, and not a single ounce of energy is left behind. If Yui is not actively participating in her group antics, she is probably playing around with her band. The music she plays may be second to her predecessor, but the memories and feelings she wants to express can be heard. Honma Meiko wants to rekindle the bonds that seem to have been separated through time. If they are not willing to make up, Meiko will have to find some way to help them remember all the goods times that they had back then. If they cannot see her, Meiko will make them see, even if it takes every bit of strength in her to convey her feelings to them. They hold their heads high, not wanting to miss any important moments in their lives through to the very end. And if they are to disappear, the messages that they leave behind will someday reach the ones who need them most... |
Shiina Mashiro (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo) vs. Victorique de Blois (GOSICK)
Many a successful girl has a boy backing her. This is the story of two such girls who have their faithful partners supporting them. Shiina Mashiro, a prodigy painter, has been living her life in solitude because of the little human interaction she had when she was young. Coupled with not being able to understand her friends, she was left all alone and moved to a dorm when she started attending school. From there, she met her partner and was taught how things function in society. She began working on her new interests, and with the help of her partner, she was able to fulfill her dream. Victorique de Blois is an intelligent girl who finds everyday life a chore due to how monotonous it is. One day, a transfer student came and they accidentally crossed paths while he was visiting the library. From there on, they were embroiled in many mysteries, with each one getting more dangerous and sinister. As they proceeded through their journey, her partner decided to protect her when he found out she was actually lonely and misunderstood. With that support, she was able to overcome all difficulties. Whose story do you enjoy most? |

Yūki Asuna (Sword Art Online) vs. Aoyama Nanami (Sakura-sō no Pet na Kanojo)
If one were to seek girls who possess strong wills, one ought to look no further than these two. A conversation with another player made Yūki Asuna realize the value of life, even in a video game. Joining a guild under a promise, Asuna quickly rose up the ranks to become one of the top officers and front line fighters. Asuna makes sure that the blade she wields is used to protect others and defend those who are in turmoil. Not giving up on her dream to be a voice actor, Aoyama Nanami continues to work multiple part-time jobs to afford going to these sessions and workshops. Coupled with her schoolwork, it is almost amazing how she is able to juggle through multiple agendas without breaking down from stress. When faced with a challenge at hand, Nanami is willing to take it on even if it means having more things to participate in her life. How will their hearts be when they square off against each other? |
Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!) vs. Shana (Shakugan no Shana)
Aisaka Taiga has given well-rounded performances in her five previous matches, where she received four wins and only one loss. Since coming to the ISML, the Palmtop Tiger has never let her guard down, and she has the ability to scratch any opponent that she faces. However, in this match, she will face a tough opponent who has the exact same results as her, Shana the Flame Haze. After a long journey with the ISML, Flame Haze Shana still remains one of the contesters with the ability to get a win from any opponent. The results show that she even can break through the Postseason without much problem after rolling for her seventh year. A match where two Postseason contestants meet each other, but only one will walk away with the victory—who will become the only winner here? Let your vote decide their future… |

Itsuka Kotori (Date A Live) vs. Tokisaki Kurumi (Date A Live)
They are fire and water. Kurumi represents the fire, raging on in battle as she fights for her prize, including the main man. Ironically, despite Kotori's affinity for fire, she is water here, using whatever she can to contain the spreading flames and block them from that man. Both sides want him for various reasons. Kurumi wants him as an energy source, for he is the key to her desires, to activating and using that bullet. And Kotori would be the guardian against anyone who wants to forcefully take him away, because it's her role as the younger sister to always support her older sibling and fight for him. Whom dost thou support? The Hunter, or the Guardian? |
Haqua du Lot Herminium (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai) vs.
Shiomiya Shiori (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai)
The top-scoring demon versus the quiet girl. The top scorer worked hard, as evidence proved by her honoured status. The quiet student discovered the library: the amazement of books, its life, its fantasy, its story, its time. The top scorer received a scythe to acknowledge her status. The quiet girl read up all of the books and was a third of the way through this fantastic world, this fantastic future with books. The top scorer was named district leader. The quiet student was the librarian, giving her authority over these books. The top scorer realized what she learnt; however, she could not easily apply her lessons and failed to get a single soul. The quiet student could not even reprimand a guy who defaced books and did not respect the library. With these weaknesses, how can they face life? They learn, they take up the courage, and they face it again. Will they succeed? |
Makise Kurisu (Steins;Gate) vs. Mikazuki Yozora (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai)
One finds that both these characters are wise and knowledgeable. One finds that they retort with sharp tongues, not holding back. One also finds that they are rather vulnerable in that their expressions of love are weak, are pretty much pathetic. One tries to express his love multiple times through different timelines. One expressively tries to create a club for them, and only for them. One would willingly sacrifice life for him, despite the heavy costs. One is willing to sacrifice time and effort just to make that relationship they once had happen again, and that spark to light up. But will it happen, that undeniable relationship they want, or are the costs too much for both sides to bear? |
Eucliwood Hellscythe (Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) vs. Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!)
The angel—one that uses her holy powers to bring peace to this world. The necromancer—one that brings the dead back to life, defying the laws of this world. But are they truly what they seem to be? Do they acknowledge their powers? Do they even want these powers? Are they a curse or a blessing? They often ask to no avail. People think power means to be all mighty; people think power means to be strong, for no one to disobey them. Do they ask the user themselves? Do they consider their feelings? Do they consider their objections, or will they ignore them, simply imagining them as mere unpreparedness? What if they want to be normal? To enjoy life as it is? No advantages? Being able to speak? Being surrounded by friends? Never alone? Loneliness. Alone.... |
Nakamura Yuri (Angel Beats!) vs. Akiyama Mio (K-ON!)
A natural leader takes up the stand to lead others into victory, whether into battle or into competition. Yuri leads her gang through detailed planning and statistics to defeat and prevent Tenshi from getting what she wants. Picking the correct members. Having the proper equipment and distractions. She might not be the best now, but she has what it takes to be in the future. Mio is the serious one when she has to get the others to train for the upcoming festival, or do strenuous training during their overnight camp at the beach. She tries and tries to get them to follow the schedule. And she succeeds, but not without trouble. She might not be the group leader, but she sure acts like one. In fact, at first glance, you might automatically assume her to be the leader due to her upright, firm, and serious playing. A leader also knows when to step down. But whom will you choose to replace? |

To be calm, collected, and willing to adapt to the changes in their environment—that is what it means to hold the Aquamarine necklace. To come to terms with herself, Takanashi Rikka must learn not only to accept the reality of her situation, but to also find the proper balance between her delusions and her normal self. Behind the sophisticated aura of Gokō Ruri lies a girl struggling to figure out how to be herself and what it means to act normally in front of strangers and friends. Itsuka Kotori continually reminds herself that no matter what role she plays or what decision she makes, she can always return to her brother's arms, knowing that he will accept her for who she is. Tachibana Kanade, who has held the necklace twice, will have to prove herself once again that she cannot falter when making a critical decision about her school life and the lives of others. No more will Yoshino run away; she will fight believing that there are people waiting for her to open up and fully understand her. Knowing she is never alone, previous necklace bearer Misaka Mikoto is ready to put everything on the line for another chance at the necklace and strike like a bolt of lighting. Upon realizing that she cannot hide forever, Kuroyukihime reveals herself, making clear her intentions and her will to challenge whoever comes in way of her goals. Which of the seven girls will be able to concentrate with a level head, refine herself into something better, and harness the powers of the ocean? |
Laura Bodewig (IS <Infinite Stratos>) vs.
Yukihira Furano (NōKome) vs.
Nōmi Kudryavka (Little Busters!) vs.
Himeragi Yukina (Strike the Blood) vs.
Sengoku Nadeko (Bakemonogatari) vs.
Mikazuki Yozora (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) vs.
Tōwa Erio (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko)
The bearer of the Aquamarine bracelet must be bold, daring, and passionate above all else. For Laura Bodewig, who had lived her entire life believing in strict discipline and mercilessness, being bold means breaking out of her iron shell and interacting with others on a normal, everyday basis. Yukihira Furano also needs to break out; the facade that she carries wrests away her true emotions and feelings, forcing her to live in constant worry and stress. Speaking of facades, Mikazuki Yozora's is equally sadistic and hides an equally insecure girl who just wants to make some friends. Sometimes, passion can be turned into evil, as Sengoku Nadeko's overpossessiveness demonstrates. However, well-intentioned passion never goes unrewarded. Tōwa Erio effectively scares away the prospect of friendship with her eccentric behavior. Instead of being ashamed, however, she embraces her weirdness and uses her passion for the strange to win the hearts of a few quirky individuals. Nōmi Kudryavka is quirky indeed, being three-quarters Russian and often out of place, but her passion and energy help to translate the differences between her and her friends. Not to be outdone, Himeragi Yukina is more than bold towards both her duties as a warrior and a middle-school girl, and the one boy they both involve. Between these seven girls, who will demonstrate a passion that will overcome all barriers and win the hearts of the world? |
